Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-09-30
This policy explains how CubeCrate: Skins for Minecraft (“CubeCrate”, “the app”), made by MAGNATE Inc. (“we”), handles information. The short version: you don't need an account, your skins stay on your device, and we don't sell data.
Information that stays on your device
- Your skins, edit history, saved versions and settings. They are stored only on your device. We never receive them unless you send them to us yourself.
- Your age group. The first time you open the app it asks for your birth year to choose an age group (under 13, 13–17 or 18+). Only the group is kept, on your device. The birth year is not stored or sent anywhere.
- Photos and files you choose. When you import a skin, the system picker gives the app only the image you select. It is converted into a skin on your device.
Files you export (images, skin packs, backups) go wherever you choose to save or share them.
If your phone's own backup is turned on (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone), the system may include the app's data in that backup so you get your skins back on a new phone. That backup is stored in your own Google or Apple account; we never receive it.
Information sent over the internet
Content downloads. The app downloads settings and new character packs from our website. These requests contain no personal identifiers. Like any website, our server and our network provider (Cloudflare) process your IP address and basic technical data (such as device type and time of the request) to deliver the files and protect against abuse. This data is kept only in short-lived security logs.
Advertising. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads are never shown while you are drawing, saving or installing a skin.
- Under 13, or if you choose “Prefer not to say”: ads are requested as child-directed and non-personalised. No advertising ID is used for tracking, and we do not ask for tracking permission.
- 13 and over: where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's tracking permission is requested and you can say no. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown.
Google may collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers and interactions with ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases. Premium subscriptions are paid through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. The app asks the store directly whether your subscription is active; no other company is involved and we don't receive your purchase details.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report so we can fix the problem: what went wrong in the app's code, the app version, and the device model and system version. Crash reports contain no name, email, skins or other content, and are not used for advertising. They are kept for up to 90 days.
Usage statistics (13 and over only). To understand which features are used and improve the app, Google Analytics for Firebase counts anonymous events, such as “a skin was created”, “a skin was installed” or which screen was opened, together with a random app instance ID, the app version, the device type and your approximate country (from your IP address, which is not stored). We never send skin names, pictures or anything you type, never use the advertising ID, and never use this data for advertising or share it with advertisers. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), statistics are only collected if you agree in the consent screen, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy choices. Statistics are kept for up to 14 months. See how Firebase handles data.
Children
CubeCrate is made for all ages, including children. We do not ask children for personal information, there are no accounts, chat or public sharing inside the app, children only see non-personalised, child-directed ads, and no usage statistics are collected for them (only anonymous crash reports). Some areas (such as settings links and purchases) are behind a simple parental check. If you are a parent and have a question, contact us at contact@magnate.dev.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information.
- We don't build profiles of you.
- We don't collect usage statistics from children.
- We don't use analytics for advertising or share it with advertisers.
Your choices and rights
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. You can delete everything at any time from Settings → Delete all my data, or by uninstalling the app. See how to delete your data for details, including advertising data.
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to complain to a data-protection authority. We hold no account data about you, but you can contact us with any request.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
