Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-08
This policy explains how GTA 6 Companion (“the app”), made by MAGNATE Inc. (“we”, “us”), handles information. The short version: there is no account or sign-up, we only keep what the app needs to work, we don't sell data, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
Who the app is for
The app is a guide to a mature-rated game and is intended for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Information stored on your phone
Your collected places, checklist, favourites, map filters, language and notification settings, downloaded content and (if you use it) the offline map are stored on your phone. They are deleted when you use More → Delete my data or uninstall the app.
Information our server receives
To work, the app talks to our server (hosted at intjstatic.com, behind Cloudflare). When you first open it, the app creates an anonymous ID, a random number that is not linked to your name, e-mail or Google account. With that ID the server stores:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous ID, the date it was created and last used | To recognise this installation | Until you delete your data |
| App language, time zone, app version, platform | To send news in your language and the launch alert at your local midnight, and to know which versions are in use | Until you delete your data |
| Push notification token and your notification choices (launch alert, news, new guides) | To send only the notifications you turned on | Until you turn notifications off, the token expires, or you delete your data |
| Premium only: your collected places, checklist, favourites and saved filters | Cloud sync between your devices | Until you delete your data |
| Purchases: product, plan, status, renewal date and the Google Play purchase token and order number | To verify purchases with Google and unlock Premium or Remove ads | As long as needed for the purchase and for accounting and tax obligations |
Like any website, our server and our network provider Cloudflare process your IP address and basic technical data (such as device type and time of the request) to deliver content and protect against abuse. Our own application logs do not record IP addresses; web server and security logs are short-lived.
Downloading the map, news, guides and pictures does not send any personal information beyond these technical request details.
Services from other companies
Advertising: Google AdMob. The free version shows ads from Google. Google may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and interactions with ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent tool. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time under More → Privacy choices, and reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Ads are limited to content suitable for teens. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers notifications to your phone using the push token described above.
Purchases: Google Play. Premium and Remove ads are paid through Google Play. We never see your payment details. Our server asks Google whether a purchase is valid and receives the purchase status, not your name or e-mail.
News articles. When you tap “Read the full article”, the outlet's website opens in a browser tab, and that website's own privacy policy applies.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your name, e-mail, phone number or location.
- We don't sell or rent personal information.
- We don't build profiles of you or use analytics to track you.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We process the information above to provide the app and its features you choose to use (performance of a contract), to deliver personalised ads only with your consent, and to keep the service secure (legitimate interests).
Your choices and rights
You can delete everything at any time from More → Delete my data. This deletes your anonymous ID and everything linked to it on our server, and everything the app stored on your phone. See how to delete your data, including without the app.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us with any request.
Security and storage
Connections to our server are encrypted (HTTPS). The anonymous ID's secret is kept in your phone's secure storage. Our server is hosted in Germany (European Union) and protected by Cloudflare.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
